NEW OUTDOOR SCULPTURES
"Blue Moon" was carved from Shaggy Bark Juniper, local to our mountain area. It has one large gazing ball that reflects its surroundings and one smaller bright blue ball. Scott carved and shaped the wood, being careful to leave some of the natural elements. He incorporated some see thru areas and textured, that he burned, to add depth to the sculpture. It stands on a block of pressure treated wood that is also textured. The base has metal feet that turn out allowing it to be staked into the ground. Although the Juniper is a good outdoor wood, we also applied several coats of an outdoor finish to ensure its longevity. Watch for future outdoor sculptures that we are currently creating, on our Blog page.
The Carving Process
Scott has a true talent of being able to reveal the inner beauty of a tree. That talent flows through the chainsaw to create the incredible vessels and sculptures revealed on this site.

I'm happy to be one of Shangrila's biggest sculpture collectors and featured in their new Sculpture book with several of my pieces.
Thanks for the kind note and bio about the wonderful work you and Scott do, it adds much more to the piece when you can connect with the Artists behind the work. We have attached a picture of the wonderful Roots of Delight. It sits right in the front of our house when you enter through the front door. A stunningly beautiful addition to our home. Every time we enter our house we are reminded of our wonderful visit to Arizona and the kind people we met there. The piece is a talking point as our friends and family visit and has garnered many compliments.

The rocker is an award winner. Divine to sit in and gorgeous to look at. I feel enormously privileged to have this exquisite piece. I'm so happy to add it to my ever growing Shangraw collection.
