Scott and Stephanie reside in the rural mountain area of Candy Kitchen New Mexico. The beautiful mountains inspire them to work with what nature provides, to create "One of a Kind" sculptures. Both Scott and Stephanie have always been involved in the arts from an early age, from painting, drawing, scratch boarding to vocal performance. This has evolved into their passion of working with wood together. Scott began his love of woodworking in high school where he showed great promise and an eye for design. Although he is is mostly self taught, he has taken rocking chair classes from famous furniture maker, Sam Maloof, where he was inspired to create his own take on the Maloof style rocker. For over 25 years they created fine furniture that was shipped and delivered all over the U.S. In approximately 2007 Scott began carving bowls to have smaller items for art shows. That evolved into carving vessels and sculptures using a chainsaw and grinders, becoming more elaborate and sculptural in design, by creating tunnels, waves and folds. They made the switch to strictly creating carved sculptures and moving away from the fine furniture in 2019. They both love the fact that the vessels and sculptures bring out their artistic freedom and allows them to express their visions from within themselves, working with influences from nature. Another aspect they both love about carving is bringing new life to discarded logs and forest reclaimed woods, such as Alligator Juniper from New Mexico. Endless scouting for just the right logs and burls, brings about abundant possibilities. Carving through into the center of the tree, reveals its life from the beginning to the end; Bringing out the Beauty and Spirit of the tree from within.

Scott states that he doesn't always have one particular thing that inspires him. Sometimes He just feels it when he looks at a certain log and knows exactly what he wants to create from it. Other times he has an idea in his mind and he searches for just the right log to use to bring that idea to fruition. He's a typical humble woodworker, and doesn't like to boast or brag. Even though he has every right to. He is truly talented. God gave him this natural gift to create one of a kind sculptures and he remains honest and grateful to that knowledge. And like other sculpture artists, if there is a mistake while creating a piece, there is no going back. Once the wood is carved away, it's gone and can't be reapplied or touched up. This is where his talent and skill is able to work with that mistake and still manage to finish creating a beautiful "One of a Kind Sculpture".

Scott and Stephanie are award winning artists, showing in some of the nations top Juried Art Shows, in museums and galleries and their work is sought after by collectors from all over the world.
